Founded in 2018 by Ahmed Alawadhi and Ahmed Mahmood, Doctor has been hailed by all quarters for its efforts in connecting certified doctors with patients via video calls, and is fully licensed by Bahrain’s National Health Regulatory Authority. For Mahmood, who also serves as Doctor’s CEO, there's a simple goal amidst talk of funding and enhanced tech.

“Between the patient and the doctor, the goal is to provide a complete digital solution and make the platform a comprehensive digital hospital, where patients can diagnose, test and treat in a stress-free environment anywhere, without having to wait in line," he said.

Doctori further plans on expanding operations to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, building on the apps’ ability to connect doctors outside Bahrain to consult local patients, allowing patients to consult with their doctors anywhere.
