Writer Mariam Naoum & CIFF Announce Short Film Development Workshop

Cairo International Film Festival’s (CIFF) Cairo Industry Days has partnered with screenwriter Mariam Naoum and MedFest Egypt, the Egyptian festival showcasing cinematic experiences that tackle medical topics, to offer an intensive one-day screenwriting development workshop. The workshop will take place during the 45th edition of CIFF, which will run from November 15th to the 24th.

The open call invites aspiring filmmakers to submit scripts for short films up to 15 minutes long, with storylines centered around medical or health topics. Works submitted by a team of a writer, director, and producer are preferable, and previous screening experience is required. The judges will then select four films for further development.

The deadline for submissions falls on October 3rd.
