The Iconic Manasterly Palace to Turn into Cairo's International Centre of Arts This Friday

Built in 1850, the Manasterly Palace is now set to be home of Cairo’s ‘International Centre of Arts’. Renowned Egyptian actor Fathy Abdel Wahab and famed maestro Hisham Gabr are set to inaugurate the centre this coming Friday, November 15th.

The inauguration is expected to follow a press conference at 6 PM, which will discuss the inspiration behind the establishment of the centre and its objectives, as well as the first season’s art performance and exhibition programme.

Egyptian soprano Amira Selim and famed French pianist Pascal Rosset will honour the Centre with its first concert to celebrate the inauguration. Selim and Rosset, who also happens to be Choir Director at the Egyptian Opera House, will attend the inauguration alongside esteemed guests and members of the international press.

The concert’s programme will feature Romeo and Juliet's "Je Veux Vivre" by Charles Gounod, A Mid-Summer Night's Dream by Ambroise Thomas, and Faust by Charles Gounod, among others. The programme will serve as a showcase of the high culture that the International Centre of Arts promises to bring to the Manasterly Palace.
