Rosaline Elbay Channels Dodi and Diana Romance in Off-Broadway Play

Egyptian actress Rosaline Elbay is starring in ‘Dodi and Diana’ at off-Broadway's HERE Arts Center in New York. The play is written by Egyptian playwright Kareem Fahmy and is inspired by Princess Diana and Egyptian Emad El-Din Fayed’s - aka Dodi's - iconic love story.

Set in Paris, 25 years after the couple’s death, Elbay plays the role of a Hollywood starlet alongside American actor Peter Mark Kendall, who plays a Wall Street banker. The married couple embarks on a journey that mirrors Diana and Dodi’s romance, exploring themes of erasure and stardom. Fahmy has expressed his excitement about the project and how, as an Egyptian, Dodi has always been an interesting figure in modern history to him. The play is set to be performed throughout October, from the 1st to the 29th.

Elbay has been making waves internationally, first with her debut in Golden Globe-winning comedy-drama series Ramy, and recently starring in Jigsaw, an upcoming series produced by Netflix.
