Port Said Gets Enriched with Korean Culture Caravan

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re sure to have noticed the huge rise in popularity of Korean culture. K-pop, K-drama, Korean cuisine - it’s everywhere. Given our own love for a good bowl of bibimbap, we aren’t mad about it, and neither is Port Said, which hosted the ‘Korean Culture Caravan’ at the Misr Public Library.

The Korean Cultural Center event includes an exhibition of Korean traditions, a selection of food, a painting workshop, two film screenings for ‘Birthday’ and ‘Honest Candidate’, and three lectures on the basics of the Korean language.

The caravan was first launched in 2017, but the 2020 edition was suspended due to COVID-19. Now it’s been reorganized in Port Said, since the coastal city was chosen as Egypt’s capital of culture for 2021.
