Netflix is Going to Release Its First Ever Arabic Production

To all the Netflix binge-watchers in Egypt and across the Arab world, this is your time! For Netflix has just announced its first ever Arabic production and its set to be a laughter extravaganza. In 2018, which is shockingly only a couple of months away at this point, subscribers across the region will get to enjoy the first Arabic standup comedy special on Netflix, leaving nothing lost in translation.

Starring in the show is the well-known Lebanese comedian Adel Karam, who is set to deliver a hilarious performance tackling a number of dilemmas and situation that only happen in the Arab world. “I am very happy and excited to be a part of Netflix's first original production in Middle East. It is a great honour and privilege and I can't wait to embark on this new adventure," says Karam.

Netflix's Vice President of International Original Series Erik Barmack expressed his enthusiasm as well for the pioneering project and his excitement for having a successful comedian like Adel Karam participate in the ambitious project. “Adel Karam is a very strong voice in comedy. We are extremely excited to collaborate with him, and can’t wait for the local audience, who have a deep appreciation of comedy, to watch the show as well as to introduce him to our global audience." elucidates Barmack.

Karam also co-stared in French-Lebanese director Ziad Doueiri's “The Insult”, a Lebanese drama which recently won the El Gouna Silver Star and was also nominated for a Golden Lion at The Venice Film Festival.
