Marvel's Moon Knight Scores Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing

Marvel’s Moon Knight - directed by Egyptian award-winning filmmaker Mohamed Diab and streaming on Disney+ - just scored its first Emmy win for sound editing at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The limited six-episode series has been stirring conversation since its release in March, nabbing eight Emmy nominations since, and receiving the ‘Outstanding Sound Editing For A Limited Or Anthology Series, Movie Or Special’ award for the series’s fifteen-member sound editing team.

Diab has been keen on spotlighting Egypt and its talents. The series featured famed Egyptian music composer Hesham Nazih for the series’s soundtrack - which was also nominated for an Emmy award - and pulled together a cast of Egyptian actors including Egyptian-Palestinian May Calamawy in a starring role, alongside Amr Al-Qadi, Zizi Dagher, Ahmed Dash, and Hazem Ehab. Naturally, fans in Egypt are highly-anticipating a season two announcement.
