'Her Story' Campaign Gets Kids to Celebrate Female Refugees with Art

Charisma Arts Foundation is raising their brushes to paint us all an untold story, one that often goes unnoticed by society. To bring our attention to the daily struggles of the refugee community in Egypt and around the world, the foundation has announced their participation in the ‘Her Story’ campaign, which calls on children of all nationalities to seek out stories of female refugees and illustrate their tales.

This drawing contest is the third part in their ‘Her Story’ initiative, and was preceded by a series on the lives of six female refugees and a ‘Power of Humanity’ workshop. The initiative is a collaboration between the Charismas Arts Foundation, the Anna Lindh Foundation and the European Union, who are hosting the international contests in Ireland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Palestine.

Yemeni, Syrian, or Sudanese children in Egypt are invited to submit their own story to the competition. The competition will accept submissions until 5 PM on June 15th through herstory@charisma-arts.org.
