DomDom is Hosting a Photography Contest from Your Balcony

Calling all the artistically inclined and creative minds chilling out on their balconies — DomDom, a graphic design platform and Arab stock image library, is hosting a balcony photography competition under the hashtag #صور_من_البلكونة. Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. The first in what will be an ongoing series of contests documenting our time under lockdown a la photographie, the initiative invites participants to submit their very best, most artsy pic from the view of their balcony.

“As a new company, we wanted to create something that would engage our audience," Fady Salah, founder of DomDom told us. "Competition in the field of photography in Egypt is tough, and quarantine doesn’t make it any better, so we came up with this idea as a way to give photographers more exposure without breaking any laws.”

The top five finalists’ images will be purchased by DomDom, and will be chosen based on public voting, while the rest of the submissions will be published with the photographers’ names credited. Submissions will be received on the platform’s website, www.domdom.tech/competitionform. If your photography career/hobby is in peril because of ‘Rona, take this chance to ignite your inner Irving Penn.
