D-CAF Celebrates a Decade of Expression in Downtown Cairo

After a decade of celebrating alternative arts, the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF) is taking over Downtown Cairo once again for its 10th edition. The neighbourhood will transform into a sprawling art venue, bustling with artists from all over the globe from October 9th to October 30th.

This year, D-CAF will fly in artists from France, Chile, Denmark, and Hungary for a variety of events including musical and dance performances, workshops, panel discussions, immersive virtual reality experiences, and walking tours.

The events will take place at Downtown Cairo’s most notable cultural sites such as the AUC Falaki Theater and Gallery, Radio Cinema, Studio Emad Eddin, Rawabet Art Space, and Kodak Passageway.

D-CAF is also taking a special interest in sustainability and climate change this year, instigating dialogue through artistic expression in light of the COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference taking place in Sharm El Sheikh this November.
