Concert at Abdeen Palace to Celebrate Egyptian Cinema's Iconic Music

The hills are alive with the sound of movies. That’s not quite how the original lyrics go, but it is an indisputable reality at the newest cultural event to grace the halls of Cairo’s iconic Abdeen Palace, quite literally titled ‘The Sound of Movies’. So, yeah, we can’t take full credit for the pun.

Held on October 29th, the orchestral performance will recreate some of the most iconic music from Egyptian films. The concert will be performed by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Nayer Nagui, alongside singers Medhat Saleh and Reham Abdelhakim, who will bring their voice to some of Egypt’s most beloved movie soundtracks like ‘Fiha Haga Helwa’ and ‘El Nour Makano fl Oloub’.

‘The Sound of Movies’ will cover the span of the last 125 years of Egyptian film, and will include soundtracks of recent releases alongside Golden Age movies, like ‘Albi Daleeli’, ‘Sharei’ El Hob’, and ‘Youm Mn Omri’.
