Celebrate Cairo's Past With 'My Heritage' Photography Competition

Egypt has recently been named this year’s capital of Islamic culture by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), and the festivities are underway! As part of this year’s programme, Egypt’s Ministry of Culture is launching the ‘My Heritage’ photography competition to encourage all the budding snappers to bring their A-game.

Photographers in Egypt and in countries that are members of the ICESCO are invited to submit their most artistic and aesthetic photographs to capture the essence of Islamic architecture.

The deadline for submissions falls on September 18th, with the contestants being announced on October 13th. The cash prizes go up to USD 1,500 across two categories, but the biggest prize would definitely be recognition as an artist that showed off the beauty of their country.
