Price-Cap Implemented on Strategic Goods Starting March 1st

The Ministry of Supply will begin implementing its decision to set maximum prices on packaging starting March 1st, announced Ibrahim El-Segini, the head of the Consumer Protection Agency. The bill will include details such as the product name, final price, and production date.

El-Segini also mentioned that the activation and enforcement of Article 8 of the Consumer Protection Law, which prohibits hoarding strategic goods, will only apply to the Cabinet’s identified seven strategic goods, namely mixed oil, broad beans, rice, milk, sugar, pasta, and white cheese.
